The differences between fellow Chicago rappers Lupe Fiasco and Chief Keef have been well documented over the past couple of weeks. Now music industry veteran No I.D., who is also a Chicago native, chimed in on the situation. The Hip-Hop producer sees a much bigger problem that extends past the rifts between Fiasco and Chief Keef, and during an interview with MTV he shared his thoughts on crime in his hometown.

"It's a lot of pressure right now in our city. It's a lot of crime, it's a lot of need for opportunity to make a quality life for ourselves. I think we gotta let the emotions die over, I think we gotta bring the situation to a head. We're in this together. It's a lot of sad things that are occurring every day."

No I.D. then dishes on the rap side of things, saying people have to look past the music and recognize real-life situations.

"Some things are involved in rap and some things are not involved in rap, and we don't get to see them all. It's really important that we take our minds out of rap world and get into the real world -- these are human lives and we really want to make sure that we value our lives and the lives of our children."

What do you make of No I.D.'s comments?
