Unscripted events that take place at wrestling events are rare. Everything that occurs usually follows a storyline. But real life doesn't abide by a script, and on Monday night, the WWE Universe witnessed something very real.

They watched as one of their own was wheeled off on a gurney during Monday night's taping of WWE Raw. After his tag team match with Randy Orton against CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler, everyday broadcaster Jerry "The King" Lawler suffered a heart attack. He was sitting at the announcers' table next to his partner Michael Cole when he suddenly collapsed. His diagnosis was unsure until a medical unit in the arena came to his assistance and took him to a back area where there was a waiting ambulance. Lawler was then taken to a nearby hospital.

During his arrival at the hospital Monday night, updates from both Cole and Lawler's long time partner and friend, Jim Ross, said that he was breathing on his own. New reports surfaced recently that stated The King will have to undergo heart surgery. The procedure will take place on Tuesday in his hometown of Memphis. We hope he enjoys a speedy recovery.
