Longtime music producer Jermaine Dupri has successfully prevented the foreclosure of his giant Atlanta mansion. He had allegedly failed to pay over $190,000 in mortgage debt and was extremely close to losing the property, which was scheduled to be auctioned earlier this month.
But the producer combated those claims, contending that he only owed $90,000. He filed an emergency motion to take the home off of the auction block and successfully paid his debt by the time the motion was filed. The mansion was ultimately removed from auction.
James Kane, Durpi's attorney, made a statement in regards to the situation.
"There was no foreclosure sale of the property. We are presently working with the lender to reconcile our disagreement over the [mortgage amount due]."
