MTV VMAs Adjusts Show for Obama's DNC Speech

With the Democratic National Convention (DNC) underway, MTV had to make a critical decision when it came down to the time at which the Video Music Awards (VMAs) would begin and end. The VMAs is certainly happening on Thursday, September 6th, which is already a switch from its usual Sunday showing; however, it is the same day that President Barack Obama will be making his speech at the DNC. His speech is scheduled to begin roughly around 10 p.m., but the VMAs were originally set to begin at 9 p.m. and end at 11 p.m., which could pose a problem for both his speech and the awards show when it comes down to viewers having to choose whether to tune into one program or another.
To resolve the possible issue, MTV has decided to bump up their start time for the VMAs to 8 p.m. and have the show end at 10 p.m., which will allow viewers to switch right over to the DNC for President Obama's speech.
His wife, Michelle Obama, has been praised for her phenomenal speech at the DNC on Tuesday, September 4th, and all of the other Democratic speakers were great as well. Bill Clinton is scheduled to speak tonight, September 5th. Let's all be sure to tune into the DNC on Thursday at 10 p.m. to see how President Barack Obama closes the show.
