During a recent interview with XXL Magazine, former Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh opened up about a few things he's learned about the music industry when it comes to trust and honesty. In his eyes, truth is power in the music industry, and he advised young up-and-coming artists to be weary of giving up too much trust to those around them. Even if certain artists work together, Mannie said that it is still best to have your attorney by your side when it comes to making deals regarding money, rather than just trust the other person to hold up their end of the deal by giving you their word.
"Don't lie. It'll catch up with you. Same way you came in this, leave how you came in. Because hip-hop is unforgiving. If they find something about you, they'll never let it die. And homeboy business don't do it. Get your attorney. It's all good when we ain't got nothing, but when we get it, that's when you see the other side of people that you never thought existed."
