It's been well documented that Drake has always had extreme admiration for late R&B singer Aaliyah and his decision to executive produce a posthumous album has received mixed reactions from many. The Young Money artist recently got the chance to speak about his new endeavor after he performed the first track from the project titled "Enough Said" at the OVO Fest in his hometown of Toronto.
In regards to the album, Drake said briefly "People should be really excited". He also clarified that the first single "Enough Said" was not his single, just a song that he added a verse to.
"It's all off an Aaliyah project that me and 40 are commanding", Drake continued. "And 40 is just doing some incredible music right now so to get 13-14 new Aaliyah songs, everyone should be excited".
He went on to say that this new endeavor isn't about him or anyone else. Rather it's about the late singer, her fans, and her family.
"It's not about me, it's not about 40. It's really about her and her fans and us just getting the opportunity to give you something that we feel is great."
Are you looking forward to hearing more from this album?
