Michael Phelps is officially the most decorated Olympian of all time, and Americans have adopted Phelps as a symbol of US athletic dominance. Every rapper in the game is concerned with being the "greatest", so it's no surprise that both Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy reached out to Phelps following his 200-meter IM race Thursday.
"I've been enjoying myself," said Phelps. "And, yes, I have been able to have some pretty cool things. I got a tweet from Lil Wayne. Ryan Lochte and I got tweets from Young Jeezy."
After Phelps' amazing performance, Lil Wayne took to Twitter to congratulate the swimmer. "High praises to my good friend Michael Phelps for becoming the greatest Olympian of all time. USA!"
Phelps and Lochte are both hip hop heads, and Lochte even rocked a custom made American flag grill courtesy of Paul Wall upon accepting his gold medal.
