Nicki Minaj Skips Show After Allegedly Being Paid to Perform

Young Money artist Nicki Minaj finds herself in the middle of a dispute with the management of Zouk nightclub located in Dallas. She was reportedly scheduled to make an appearance at the venue following her set at the Verizon Theater. Promoters were expecting a performance from Nicki, but claim that the female rap superstar failed to make an appearance after she signed a contract and was paid $30,000 to do so.

Nicki, on the other hand, responded to those claims via Twitter saying "S/O to the promoters who sold tkts under false pretenses tho..."

A representative from Zouk nightclub had another side of the story.

"From my understanding, she was outside, she had shown up, her security had done a walk-through and she just decided not to come in."

A spokesperson stated that the club has not made a decision on whether or not to take legal action for breach of contract.

Heres the reality. If the promoter advertised that she would be performing, they lied. She was probably booked for an after party. If she performed somewhere earlier, that promoter isn't going to allow her to advertise a performance somewhere else. That cuts into his ticket sales. So the logically answer is she prob showed up and they didn't have the rest of her money and she bounced.

I don't really know her but i can tell you if there is something that isnt right the artist wont perform, club promoters are nooriously unprofessional, and quick to blame the artist for their screw ups, its is irresponsible since no one knows the club owner and he artist gets blamed for the non performance, its usually a technical issue. or a safety issue where they dont provide professional sound or a safe environment. but the artist gets blamed when clearly in most performance contracts its made clear. then we get a misleading headline like this without comments from the artist management. not really a fan of hers but, not all of them but a good percentage of small club performers are unprofessional and real pieces of shit.
