James Holmes, the man who committed the heinous act of killing 12 people at a movie theater in Colorado, is currently behind bars and claims to have amnesia, saying he doesn't know why he's locked up. According to a source at the New York Daily News, Holmes has been telling this to other inmates, but they're not buying his story.

The source stated: "He [James Holmes] claims he doesn't know why he's in jail. He asked, 'Why am I here?'"

It has also been reported that Holmes was seeing a psychiatrist before he took the lives of 12 innocent people and wounded over 50 others. According to a court document discovered by his defense team, Holmes sent a package to his doctor which was in regards to his sinister plot.

His attorneys' state, "The government's disclosure of this confidential and privileged information has placed Mr. Holmes' constitutional rights to due process and a fair trial by an impartial jury in serious jeopardy."

It remains unclear how these new developments will effect the outcome of the case.
