Due to a lack of payments to a Manhattan Mini Storage space in Inwood, the personal archives of Malcolm X and wife Betty Shabazz were recently threatened to be auctioned off. Malcolm's estate owes $2,447 to the Manhattan Mini Storage according to sources, however representatives of the estate intervened at the last minute, preventing the auction from taking place. They now have until August 20th to make the necessary payments.
One of the employees of the Manhattan storage facility stated firmly that, "We'd never auction off anything that belonged to Malcolm X."
