Kansas City rapper Tech N9ne has received a plaque for his 2006 track "Caribou Lou", which reached gold status this week. According to SoundScan, the song has moved 501,503 copies to date. It's featured on Tech N9ne's album "Everready (The Religion)".

Tech N9ne thanked his fans for making this a reality.

"It's a wonderful accomplishment to have a Gold record. My fans are the reason this happened and I can't thank them enough. To know that they love my music and continue to support what I create is truly a beautiful thing."

The gold certificate comes after Tech N9ne was named one of Billboard Magazine's Top Urban Power Players of 2012, an award also given to the likes of Diddy and Jay-Z.
