It was almost obvious that the New York Knicks weren't going to match the offer sheet made by the Houston Rockets when NY traded for Raymond Felton. Now it's to the point where Jeremy Lin will most likely become a member of the Houston Rockets, according to the New York Times. The Knicks have until midnight tonight to match the deal or Lin will officially be a Rocket. But according to Howard Beck, the Knicks are moving on from this negotiation.

The defining factor in the Knicks' decision to not match the offer is the other contracts they have on their books. The organization has to pay superstars Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire $23 million each and center Tyson Chandler $14.5 million. Keeping Lin would've put the Knicks high above the luxury tax and that's not something owner James Dolan wanted to happen.

Once the Knicks made the trade for Raymond Felton, Lin's chances of returning to the Big Apple in the 2012-2013 season was demolished. What are your thoughts on the Knicks' decision to not resign Jeremy Lin?
