A Brooklyn mother is suing New York City for $5.5 million after she was shown video of her son being beaten by a school official.
The New York Daily News showed Diane John a video of her son, Kristoff, being beaten by Stephen Hudson, a teacher at George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School, where the incident took place.
"You send your kids to school to learn," John said. "It's supposed to be a safe place and for this to happen is shameful and disgusting."
John hired attorney Sanford Rubenstein, who filed a claim that read, "Stephan Hudson negligently, violently and viciously grabbed (Kristoff) by his arm, hand and neck, and dragged him across the floor and pushed him numerous times into a table."
The Education Department and Hudson are listed as defendants in the claim.
