In 2010, a woman by the name of Elaine Nowells was driving her car in Georgia when she was sidelined by Patrick Thrall, a man who claims to be an employee of The-Dream.  Mr. Thrall allegedly ran a red light and struck Ms. Nowells' car at full force which caused her vehicle to flip over onto its back, and continue to slide down the street.

TMZ has reported that Ms. Nowells is claiming that she suffered a broken back as a result of the accident, along with mental and physical pain.  Some of her injuries she claims to be permanent, and she has filed in the lawsuit that her medical bills are enormous.  She has stated in the lawsuit that she believes the entire accident to be solely Mr. Thrall's fault and because he is an alleged employee of The-Dream's, both The-Dream and his company should be held responsible for financial repayment.

The-Dream however, has adamantly stated that he is not Mr. Thrall's employer, and that he should not be held financially responsible because he was not present at the time of the accident and has nothing to do with how it even happened.

In a statement released by The-Dream addressing the matter, he said:

"Pat Thrall Is NOT an EMPLOYEE of Radiokilla Records, IDJ, or any of its affiliate companies. He is an independent contractor (engineer) who was on the way to his hotel when the accident occurred. We are sorry to hear about her injuries and we hope she gets better. We are almost certain that her attorneys put pressure on her to file a lawsuit. Unfortunately, that's the NEW American Dream. Can't win in life, sue someone who can."
