Flaming Lips member Wayne Coyne, who directed a racy music video featuring Erykah Badu, finally spoke on the situation and addressed Badu's extensive tweets regarding him and the video.

The issues arose when the video for their collaborative track "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" was released and showed Badu in a compromising situation.

Badu stated in her tweet that she never gave Coyne approval to release that video without her consent first.

Now Coyne has responded with his own statement.

"Believe me, I was warned and knew that she was an unpredictable freak. A lot of the Erykah Badu audience does not know or give a sh*t or will ever care about the Flaming Lips. That's the side of it that she fights for. I didn't take it serious. I took it as, she's being controversial. A lot of the things that were said I thought were just fun, and it was fun to play along with. That's the beauty of Twitter."
