From award-winning rapper to business mogul, Jay-Z has endeavored on a wide range of ventures outside of hip hop. And although he's currently overseas with Kanye West continuing the "Watch The Throne" tour, Jay is still making headlines elsewhere.

It was recently announced that he will become the director of Brooklyn's Barclays Arena where the Brooklyn Nets will play their home games beginning in the 2012-2013 NBA season. Hov of course owns a share of the team and will be looking to be as involved as possible.

Forest City Ratner Cos., the company developing the actual arena, named Shawn Carter as one of the directors of the upcoming arena when they filed for a liquor license. Some of his new responsibilities and duties will be to overlook daily operations of the venue.

Jay has already made his mark felt within the organization by designing the team's new uniforms and helping to prepare the 11 luxury seats. His official role as director has not been disclosed as of yet, but expect him to be very hands-on with the new gig.
