Flex is important to New York...duke aint relevant to nobody else. Real Talk. He dont even get much mention anywhere else. Plus he was foul for talkn sideways about Pac damn near 15 years after the man passed. That didnt show the heart of a leader or anyone I'd even want to listen to let alone be associated with. Then he always dropping 100 fuckn bombs in his sets so you can barely hear the fuckn track thats playin...not to mention he got one of the most annoying radio voices ive ever heard. Duke sound like he talkin thru a naval cavity or something. Anywho fuck dis nigga...he gets no love

Flex is not relevant in new York who ever said that. When we hear his voice today we don't really hear him we just hear "it" if that makes sense 1

Salkowitz went and saw Funkmaster Flex perform and work the crowd at the Home Bass. After that night, he was convinced that Flex was his man and in the spring of 1992, Funkmaster Flex began mixing and hosting his own show, a specialized rap show on Hot 97. With that, it became the first pop station in New York to showcase rap. Flex has been with Hot 97 ever since and aired nationally through syndication throughout the weeknights and weekends... Cant deny what this man has done for our culture.. pay homage follow @weblazehiphop...

MADNEWYORKER914 Avatar @weblazehiphop,WRONG!!! "HOT 97" wasn't the first to showcase rap in New York, it was WBLS "The MR.Magic show"!!! Then "KOOL DJ RED ALERT" 98.7 KISS and "MARLY MARL" WBLS came next. And If I'm not mistaking, "RED ALERT" use to let "FLEX" touch the tables at "KISS" when "RED ALERT" had a show to do.

Look man... at the end of the day... what has Charlamagne done for hip hop that Flex hasn't? Don't insult my intelligence and don't insult the hip hop culture. Charlamagne was Wendy Williams' hoe. Flex is a HUGE part of hip hop in general, not just NYC. He was instrumental in opening the air waves in NY to all sorts of artists around the country. So if you are buying into the Breakfast Club B.S., you either haven't done your homework or are younger than 18. F&%$ you.
