Lil Boosie's Labelmate Lil Phat Shot and Killed in Atlanta

19-year-old rapper Lil Phat (Melvin Vernell III) was found shot and fatally wounded at 6:40 pm on June 7th in the 1001 block of Johnson Ferry Road in Atlanta, GA. Lil Phat was found in a car parked in a parking structure next to Northside Hospital Women's Center. He was taken to nearby Northside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Witnesses told investigators that they saw at least one suspect running from the scene of the crime. The parking deck has video surveillance cameras that the police are currently reviewing.
Lil Phat was signed to Trill ENT, which included artists Lil Boosie, Webbie, Foxx, Lil Trill, KaDe, Mouse & Shell.
