Rico Beats, the man who put together the beat for Pusha T's "Exodus 23:1" claims that Pusha never once mentioned Wayne nor Drake while recording the track.  Even though he does have a bunch of subliminal lines on the song that hint at him aiming and Wayne, Drake, and the YMCMB team, Rico doesn't feel as though he it should be interpreted that way.  From his perspective, Pusha told him that he simply wanted something "dark" to spit over, so Rico got the motivation for the beat to "Exodus 23:1" after listening to Biggie's "What's Beef", and they just recorded from there.

"Honestly, when we were in the room listening to that record, I didn't hear none of these guys' names brought up.  It was none of that. Dream got in his zone and he went in the booth. Pusha got his pen, like I didn't hear nobody mentioned.

"Pusha kept tellin' me, 'I need something dark, man.  The album sounds crazy, but I still need somethin' for my fans.' So I was like, 'I got you, give me by six o'clock.'  I went down to the studio and I was just listening to Biggie. I was just playin' pure Biggie. So 'What's Beef' came on and once I heard B.I.G.'s 'ha-ha-ha-ha' vocal I was like, 'Oh sh*t!'"

But as everyone already knows, Lil Wayne didn't take lightly to Pusha's lines like, "Throwing that flag up, runnin' around like you hot sh*t, taking half of everything you get" and "contract all f*cked up/I guess that means you all f*cked/You signed to one n*gga, then signed to another n*gga, then signed to three n*ggas/Now that's bad luck," so he came back with a direct diss track at Pusha T called "Goulish".  Drake even took shots at Pusha during a live performance shortly after Weezy released his "Goulish" track.

Now a feud has begun between Young Money and G.O.O.D. Music.  Pusha T hasn't responded to any emails or calls regarding the matter, so who knows, he might just be in the lab cooking up a monster diss record to come back at Wayne and Drake.
