When news broke that P. Diddy's son, Justin Combs, committed to playing football for the UCLA Bruins in the fall, it rose to debate of whether he should be allowed to keep the $54,000 scholarship the school gave him.

Taxpayers now want Justin to turn over his scholarship to other students whose parents don't have the financial clout that his has.

Education contributor Dr. Steve Perry stood by the Combs', though, and in an interview with CNN, he explains his reasoning.

"He's done what he needs to do to be successful and in 'Ameritocracy' we have to accept that no matter who your father is, whether he be rich, poor or absent, that you can in fact be successful on your own merit".

It's obvious that Diddy can easily afford to pay for Justin to attend any university, especially after being named the no. 1 hip hop earner in Forbes Magazine, racking up $45 million this year.

Do you feel Combs should have to give back his scholarship?
