Looking back on the events that unfolded as a result of Lupe Fiasco sampling his T.R.O.Y. instrumental, Pete Rock admits that he lost his cool when he went off on his Twitter rant.

In an interview with MTV's Sway on Tuesday, the legendary producer stated how he felt at that particular time.

"At that point, my emotions were working. I'm still thinking about Heavy D and Troy is a dear friend to me, and my emotions got the best of me, and I expressed myself on Twitter".

Lupe and Pete then took to Twitter soon after the initial rant and stated that the rift between them was over. But Fiasco followed that up with his own tirade when he had a phone conversation with Sway. Upon hearing Lupe's latest remarks, Pete Rock insists that all he wanted to do was put an end to this issue.

"When he called, he was upset, and I just tried to talk him through that and say, 'Look, man, at the end of the day, let's just fix this thing. My whole goal was to just squash this thing, fix the music and just move on."

Pete continues to say that he's a Lupe Fiasco fan.
