The New York Knicks lost three of their guards this past NBA season due to injury and are surely looking to obtain a healthy back court next season. But according to reports, former Philadelphia 76ers great Allen Iverson is not on their radar.
Iverson recently appeared at Game 6 of the 76ers and Boston Celtics series last week to give out the game ball. He stated in a brief interview "I want to play basketball so bad."
But Knicks general manager Glen Grunwald isn't looking to contact Iverson in any way, citing that it would be too big of a "gamble" for the organization, despite the loss of much of their backcourt.
Jeremy Lin had a bruised knee and was unable to perform in the first round loss to the Miami Heat. Veteran guard Baron Davis and young defensive expert Iman Shumpert both suffered extremely horrific knee injuries and will miss time. Shumpert will miss the first two months of next season while Davis is out indefinitely.
Would you Knicks fans like to see Allen Iverson in the backcourt with Melo in New York?
