The tension between Whitney Houston's family and artist Ray J almost boiled over at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night. Members of the family became enraged that he was seated next to them, which led them to ask security to remove him from the venue.
Whitney's sister-in-law Pat Houston became irate that she, along with Bobbi Kristina, were in the vicinity of Ray J, whom Pat believes had a negative influence on the late Whitney Houston's life.
Just before John Legend and Jordin Sparks took the stage to honor the life of Ms. Houston, Pat summoned security and demanded that Ray J be removed the area. But security told Pat that things would get physically out of control, so it wouldn't be a wise decision.
Pat clenched her teeth and decided against it.
Ray J wasn't too thrilled over the situation either, simply saying "Pat ruined what was a great opportunity to honor the woman who I loved."
