Tennis star Serena Williams finally addressed the hype surrounding the leak of her studio sessions, blaming the release on an apparently untrustworthy friend.
According to Serena, she didn't give approval to release her unofficial first single last week, stating that "I was in the studio with friends and I wanted to do something and so they said - do this and it was for me. The next thing I know -- that was one of two years ago and then I read online that I was a rapper and so my back-stabbing friends did that to me and so if I see them, I will act like a rapper -- if you can get my drift," she said in an interview with the Atlanta Black Star.
However, it may have been to Serena's benefit as rap-star Game co-signed the tennis star based off of her track, claiming that she's a "really talented artist."
The untitled track began circulating online last Friday.
