Just days ago, Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao made a very ill-advised statement about his disagreement with gay marriage being accepted in the world, and he's received a wave of negative feedback as a result. Certain organizations have called on his sponsor Nike to sever ties with the Filipino superstar, and his statements have probably lost him a few thousand fans as well.  Pacquiao made the below statement due to his strict religious beliefs in the scriptures of the Bible:

"God's words first ... obey God's law first before considering the laws of man. God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other.  It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of Old."

Now his nemesis, Floyd "Money" Mayweather, has come forward just a few days after Pacquiao made his anti-gay marriage statement, to support President Obama's public acceptance of the gay community being allowed to wed.  He took to Twitter to publicly announce his support of Obama and gay marriage.

"I stand behind President Obama & support gay marriage. I'm an American citizen & I believe people should live their life the way they want."

Whether this is a 100% genuine belief of Floyd's on the topic of gay marriage does not matter.  Regardless of how he truly feels, his decision to publicly state that he supports gay marriage was a very smart move to gain the public's favor, especially since Pacquiao has received nothing but negativity for his comments.

It looks like Floyd is winning over the crowd a bit these days, and he and Pacquaio haven't even stepped in the ring yet.
