Public criticism has been buzzing about R&B singer Ne-Yo stealing the title of his upcoming album, R.E.D., from The Game's R.E.D. album, which was released last year.  Last year The Game's R.E.D. album debuted at the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

TMZ caught up with Ne-Yo at LAX recently and asked him about how he feels about people saying he stole from The Game.  Ne-Yo firmly defended his decision to name the album R.E.D. for his own personal reasons, and he doesn't feel like he stole from The Game at all.

Here's what he had to say:

"No ... I don't feel like I ripped off The Game's album.  Until The Game comes up to me and says he has a problem with it, I don't care what people think.  As I was doing the album, my previous title, The Cracks of Mr. Perfect, just didn't make sense anymore once I got finished with the album.  You know?  However, R.E.D. (Realizing Every Dream) did, so that's what I called it.  It actually wasn't even brought to my attention that, that was the name of The Game's last album until I changed it to R.E.D., then I was like 'oh, ok.'  Oh well.  Jay-Z did The Blueprint and so did KRS-One, so..."

The Game commented on his feelings about Ne-Yo using the exact same name of his past album on Ne-Yo's upcoming one.  It's safe to say, The Game isn't stressing it, "I've always known Ne-Yo to be a cool dude, so I'm pretty sure he got his reasoning."
