Former Giants WR Stacy Robinson Dead at 50

Stacy Robinson, a wide receiver on the New York Giants' first two Super Bowl-winning teams, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday at the age of 50. Robinson was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the blood, in 2009.

He worked for the National Football League Players Association following his playing career, and Giants co-owner John Mara remembered his fallen player with deep sorrow.

"He was a good man who was loved and respected by his teammates and everyone in this organization. His work on behalf of the Players Association was of great benefit to many players. He will be missed."

Robinson was taken in the second round of the 1985 draft by the Giants and stayed with the team for his entire six-year career. When the Giants won their first Super Bowl title after the 1986 season, Robinson caught three passes for a team-high 62 yards in the 39-20 championship for a game win over the Denver Broncos.
