The passing of legendary Beastie Boys member Adam Yauch has hit the music world very hard.
MCA's death really affected those who knew him personally, like rap veteran and fellow New York artist Nas, who was shocked when he heard about MCA's passing.
He spoke to Global Grind about the times he spent with the group and also getting to work with them musically.
"One of my greatest moments in music was when I worked with the Beastie Boys... Now today I'm hearing our brother is gone. I prayed this would not happen. MCA was so cool, man. We had great talks about what it was like for them in the beginning, getting into the rap game. I'll never forget that experience for the rest of my life. MCA is true legend who influenced me. God bless his soul and his loved ones."
Adam Yauch aka MCA passed away at the age of 47 after losing a battle with cancer.
