The greatest closer in the history of the Major Leagues may just be at the end of his career.

Mariano Rivera was carted off of the field during batting practice Thursday night after he attempted to make a diving catch and fell to the ground in obvious extreme pain.

He was ultimately taken into the locker room and then to Kansas University Med-West Hospital for an MRI.

Rivera was seen smiling as he left the field, but nothing was funny when Yankees manager Joe Girardi stated that Rivera tore his ACL.

Is this the end of Mariano Rivera's illustrious career?
