May 5th is going to be a legendary night of boxing between two masters of the craft. Miguel Angel Cotto, one of the best Puerto Rican boxers to ever step into the ring, will face off against the man who is considered to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, Floyd "Money" Mayweather.
Despite Floyd being a seven time world champion across five weight divisions, he is the challenger in his upcoming bout against Cotto. Cotto is the current champion of the 154lbs WBA Light Middleweight division, and a four time champion across three weight divisions himself. He sports an incredible record of 37-2 with 30 wins coming by way of knockout. His only two losses came by the hands of the great Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, and the illegal loaded gloves of Antonio Margarito.
Despite Cotto being a 5-1 underdog, Floyd Mayweather is really putting his remarkable record of 42-0 on the line by taking this fight with Miguel Cotto, as Cotto has the skills to do some major damage to Floyd and tarnish his record and thus his legacy. Both men have been training extremely hard to prepare for this May 5 meeting, and neither man plans to go home with a loss on their record.
Cotto is a skilled boxer, and powerful puncher with loads of heart. Mayweather is arguably the best tactician to ever step foot in the boxing ring, and he has always found a way to win, whether it be by knockout, or just pure dominance in skill.
Both men have been through tough, hard fought wars in the ring, and a war is exactly what each man will bring with them on May 5th. With this blockbuster fight only a few days away, here is a look back at all of the incredible fights each man has had over the years, beginning with their very first pro debuts.
