Justin Atmore, 31, was caught by Weber County police officers while attempting to break into a vehicle.  The officers were alerted to a burglary in progress and when they arrived at the scene they found Atmore with an abundance of burglary tools such as lock picks, pliers, knives, a screwdriver, and bolt cutters.

Atmore claimed he was practicing to be a locksmith on the car, but police weren't buying his story so they obtained a search warrant to search his truck.  As a result of the search, officers found several purses and wallets, a camera, religious books and scriptures and stolen DVD's.  They also found a stolen .380 caliber handgun, a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine, and gems worth $5,000.

Atmore was arrested and charged with a wide range of charges consisting of burglary of a vehicle, manufacturing/possession of burglary tools, possession/use of a firearm by a restricted person, five counts of theft by receiving stolen property and possession of narcotics.

He has since been released from jail.
