Earlier today, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the league declared its ruling on the bounty situation involving the New Orleans Saints and their head coach Sean Payton by suspending him without pay for the upcoming NFL season, as well as banning the team's former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who now works the sidelines for the St. Louis Rams.

This all began when reports first circulated that members of the Saints organization such as coaches and players were paying bounties for huge hits on opposing players. It was said that Payton, among others, knew about such things and allowed them to happen.

No one officially knows how the situation became a headline story, but former NFL hard-hitter defensive lineman Warren Sapp, who is now an ESPN analyst, says that former Saint Jeremy Shockey is the "snitch" who allowed the information to get out into the public.

Sapp tweets:

"BINGO! RT @elnicastro: Shockey..? RT QBKILLA: Just Heard Who The Snitch Was"

In response to that statement, Shockey himself responded to Sapp on Twitter, tweeting:

"@QBKILLA @elnicastro my a**!! I don't even play defense! Haha"

Sapp then discredited Shockey's response by saying "That's not the issue".

The NFL just has had all types of major news today!
