The March 2012 cover of 'FHM Philippines', the country's top-selling men's mag, was hastily changed after the original version met with widespread disdain.

The problem? The cover depicted fair-skinned Filipino actress Bela Padilla surrounded by ominous looking black models with the tagline, "Stepping Out of the Shadows."

The magazine's Facebook page was inundated with complaints. Wrote one user, "Seriously, did you guys not sense how racist this concept was?"

The outrage prompted local publisher Summit Media to issue an apology, scrap the cover and print a new edition featuring Padilla. "In our pursuit to come up with edgier covers, we will strive to be more sensitive," the company wrote in a statement.

What do you think, is the cover racist?
