The Beastie Boys became just the third hip-hop act ever to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last weekend, and were officially inducted by Chuck D and LL Cool J.  Chuck D went on to say that the Beasties were "one of the greatest live acts in music" and said their impact could not be measured.

The New York trio joins Run D.M.C. and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five as the only hip-hop acts to ever be inducted into the Rock Hall.

Black Thought of The Roots and Travie McCoy of Gym Class Heroes wore green and white Adidas tracksuits to perform some of the group's hits such as "No Sleep Til Brooklyn," "So Whatcha Want," and "Sabotage."  ?uestlove played the drums during the tribute.

Both Adam "A-Rock" Horovitz and Michael "Mike D" Diamond were in attendance to accept the award and induction, however Adam "MCA" Yauch was not available.
