Former NBA player Rex Chapman shared a candid account of his battle with drug addiction and gambling, which led to his arrest in 2014 for shoplifting from an Apple Store to finance his habits. He admitted to the struggle of facing the 14 felony charges and his subsequent decision to enter rehab. Chapman acknowledged he was lucky to avoid jail and confessed to feeling guilty about his advantage in the justice system due to his financial resources. He revealed a financial advisor had hidden money from him, which he quickly spent upon discovery. Chapman later wrote a memoir on his personal journey, which caused him anxiety, fearing his ex-wife and children, who learned several secrets from the book. However, he professed his gratitude for their respect and intact relationship. He said his story, while not heartwarming, is a cautionary tale. Chapman is now clean and healthier - a state many people tackling such issues don't reach.
