Aries Spears commented on Terrence Howard's reported refusal to pay back taxes, which totals over $1 million. Howard justified his stance by attributing it to the 400 years of forced labor endured by his ancestors during slavery for which no remuneration was received. As per Howard, descendants of slaves should, by default, own the United States, and he prefers settling this dispute in court rather than succumbing to unfair financial obligations. Spears warned against adopting Howard's mindset, citing the example of actor Wesley Snipes, who faced jail time after he tied up with a group proclaiming tax payment unconstitutional for African Americans. Despite using complex accounting methods to avoid taxation, Snipes was ultimately incarcerated, which Spears believes led to a nosedive in his career. Staunchly arguing against using 'race cards' in court, Spears advised clear understanding and compliance with the legal system to avoid any dire consequences.
