Carolina Panthers owner Jerry Richardson made it known he is putting the team for sale, which fell on the same day the NFL said they were beginning their investigation into him.

According to reports, the Panthers began an investigation of their own into Ricardson after reports of alleged sexual harassment in the workplace surfaced. Along with harassment, there was alleged use of a racial slur.

In an official statement on the sale, Richardson said “I believe that it is time to turn the franchise over to new ownership. Therefore, I will put the team up for sale at the conclusion of this NFL season.”
