The new generation of rappers has forged a new path, with some choosing not to follow what their elders did previously. Some of the music of now comes with a different form of messaging and does not showcase the lyricism that rap was founded on. Jeezy recently sided with the new wave of rappers which caused a stir on the web, resulting in Flipmode Squad spitter Rah Digga weighing in on the matter.

Jeezy recently stopped by Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks' show ‘Everyday Struggle,’ to promote his new album ‘Pressure.’ While on the show, Jeezy commented on the new rappers for using music as a creative outlet instead of engaging in crimes or other activities that could result in bad situations.

“It’s crazy because you’re critiquing some s**t, where these kids are out here trying to figure their lives out. These are the same motherf**kers that’d be out here robbing your a** if they didn’t have a new album—the same people that’d be tearing up the communities and doing the real gangsta s**t out here if they didn’t have their music out,” Jeezy said. He went on to commend them for finding a way to “make money without killing.” Rah Digga agreed with some of the points Jeezy made, but let it be known that the music should not suffer.

“I do agree that the OGs should make more of an effort to reach out personally instead of just publicly bashing. I stay acknowledging the new blood...on the girl side anyway...” she said. She goes on to point out that everyone is dealing with trauma and to not let the lyrics fall by the wayside. “Everybody is expressing real-life trauma in some capacity. Don't completely dismiss the importance of the lyrics tho...is all we sayin.”

Rah Digga went on the explain more about why she believes music should have a high caliber of content and engaged with a people that on the matter. Read her thoughts above.
