Friends, fans, and family members are mourning the loss of rising Connecticut rapper Zoe ‘Gangstalicious’ Dowdell, who recently died Thursday night after being shot by police.

The police were responding to a vehicle that was believed to be involved in auto theft over the past two weeks along with an altercation that resulted in a victim being shot at and another pistol-whipped.

Reports noted that as the police attempted to stop the vehicle and question the occupants, shots were fired by the officers, striking Gangstalicious which unfortunately caused him to die. One of the two other occupants, an 18-year-old was grazed by a bullet and arrested for the possession of an illegal narcotic with the intent to sell. His bond was $100k.

Another 15-year-old inside the car was issued a summons to appear in juvenile court for a range of charges including possession of illegal narcotics, carrying a pistol without a permit, and carrying a weapon in a motor vehicle.

There’s currently an investigation underway by the Connecticut police and all officers involved in the shooting are on restricted duty as the case evolves.
