Seattle police have released video captured by a civilian as well as video taken from the body camera of an officer involved in the shooting of a robbery suspect who had a series of armed confrontations before leading police on a chase that ended with his death.

Kyle Gray's rampage began at around 10 p.m. when police received reports from Northgate Mall about a pair of shoplifters who got away after Gray reportedly flashed a gun at the Forever 21 manager. Later in the night, a separate report came in about a man who threatened and fired a shot in the direction of the manager at a nearby apartment complex.

That manager actually had the presence of mind to take out his cellphone and film the confrontation. The recording shows Gray and the woman he was with getting hostile after being told they couldn't park in the complex garage. After spewing profanities and firing the weapon, the couple fled in an Audi.

At some point after midnight, police received a third call in connection with Gray, only, this time it came from the woman who was with him. When they arrived at Holman Road to take her into custody officers realized that Gray was staking the situation out from within sight. A pursuit of his vehicle then ensued. Gray would fire shots at the officers during the getaway, but they remained on his tail as he led them into Magnuson Park. Finally, he exited the car next to a boat ramp and ran off into a field of tall grass.

When the group of pursuing officers finally caught up to Gray he was ordered to put his hands up but refused to comply. After he appeared to lean forward and reach towards his waistband the officers began to fire.

Once apprehended, Gray was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
