Former NBA baller Charles Barkley is a Leeds, Alabama native who went to Auburn University and as a commentator does not hold his tongue on many social topics. The current political climate in his home state is no different. Barkley has vocally blasted Roy Moore for his ties to Steve Bannon and called out the allegations of sexual misconduct with minors brought up against him as he runs for a seat in the Senate.

The NBA Hall of Famer will be appearing with Democratic Senate candidate Doug Jones this evening (Dec. 11) in Birmingham at Old Car Heaven to campaign against Moore. While Barkley doesn't align himself with the Democratic or Republican party, he's revealed he doesn't know "a ton" about Jones, but it doesn't matter because Moore is undeserving of the seat.

From Moore's alliance with known white nationals to the women who claim he approached them as teens, there's a history there that Barkley will not support. "It can't be Roy Moore. To me it's silliness that this guy's trying to win," Barkley stated.

He feels that many people of Alabama have been brainwashed into blindly supporting Moore. "All you have to do is talk about God and say you don't like homosexuals ... and abortion," he said.

Overall he feels Roy Moore is terrible for Alabama and an inadequate representation of the state. Barkley said it's embarrassing that he's still even eligible to be in the race, he is supporting Jones as a means to show that. "You couldn't make it up. If somebody sent you a script, with all [Moore's] done and said, you wouldn't believe he could still be in the race."
