Celtics forward Gordon Hayward was acquired by Boston from Utah over the off-season as the team retooled after trading for Kyrie Irving. The Celtics were pretty stacked coming into the season but lost Hayward to a gruesome ankle injury during the season opener. But during a sit-down with a reporter from the Boston Globe, Hayward said that he hopes to make a return this season. "It's definitely in the back of my mind," he said. "I'm definitely pushing to get back as fast as I can while making sure that I still have a lot of good years of basketball in me."

But the Celtics are warding against a quick return for the Butler University product. They don't want Hayward back on the floor unless he is certain that he can withstand the rigors of the NBA season. Hayward added, "So I'm making sure that if I come back, I'm 1,000 percent confident in myself and my leg. [...] I hope more than anything I can play this season. That would be awesome. But that's not something I'm stressing about. I'm stressing about what I can do today to help myself get better."

Although Gordon Hayward wants to get back on the floor, his Boston Celtics have been nothing short of impressive as they continue to torch the league with the association's best record.
