WARNING. GRAPHIC.

Shortly after an Arizona officer was acquitted of 2nd-degree murder charges, the police department released the graphic footage of a police officer executing Daniel Shaver as he begged for his life while crawling on his hands and knees. The incident occurred in January of 2016 and was just one of over 900 deaths at the hands of police in that year alone.

Former officer Philip Brailsford was one of the officers who responded to a call about a man allegedly pointing a rifle out of a window at a La Quinta Inn in Mesa, Arizona. Apparently, Shaver, 26, was staying at that hotel with a young woman whom he met earlier and Was taking shots of rum as he showed off a pellet gun used for his job as an exterminator.

in the video recorded by the officer’s body cam, Brailsford instructs shaver to crawl towards him on his hands and knees. As Shaver is crawling he reaches behind to pull up his pants, upon which the officer threatened to shoot him. Shaver began to weep as he continued to crawl towards the officer but stopped to reach toward his backside, after which the officer shot Shaver five times. He was unarmed. The defense won a separate judgment to hold on to the body cam video evidence until after the jury made a decision. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments.
