The one person in the world who knows Kevin Durant and what he might be personally going through at any given time vouched that his rivalry with former teammate Russell Westbrook is friendlier than the media would have fans believe, on Thursday, November 23.

In an interview with ESPN, Wanda Durant got on the same page as KD in dispelling the notion that the high intensity and smack talk fans witnessed during Durant's return to OKC on Wednesday night has anything to do with how they feel about one another as men. “I just think it’s a lot of unnecessary hype around all of this really. It’s just a game. It’s basketball," said Mrs. Durant. "So, I don’t know. I’ll be glad when it’s over because it’s really unnecessary. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is.”

Wanda's words echo those provided by KD, who spoke with the network on his intense moment in Westbrook's face during the game and told Chris Haynes, "It’s not about me and Russ. It’s about the Thunder and the Warriors. Myself and Russ are competing out there. That’s part of the game."

Durant has been forced to address the question of whether or not animosity remains over his decision to leave OKC for Golden State all week, despite appearing to be welcome by fans in the city. He has consistently maintained that there are no problems between him and Westbrook, but one wouldn't be able to tell by how he and the reigning MVP interacted during the game, with reports going around that tell of Durant having called his former teammate a "p***y" at some point during the face-off.
