The pressure to be an all-star caliber player right out the gate has haunted the early part of the new NBA season for Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball. Not to mention his boisterous father finding a way to garner some media attention surrounding his son's game. Most recently, LaVar Ball called out the Lakers coaching staff for being 'too soft' which is why Lonzo isn't performing to his potential. But despite all the media scrutiny, Lonzo has shown flashes of brilliance while on the floor by recording two triple-doubles thus far. However, in Wednesday night's matchup against the Sacramento Kings, Ball decided to show off his leaping ability.
Lonzo brought the ball up court before dishing it off to Corey Brewer on the perimeter. Ball made a back-cut on his defender running him into the pending screen as Brewer tosses the lob to Lonzo who punches it over the outstretched arm of big-man Willie Cauley-Stein.
Despite the highlight reel play, the Lakers fell to the Kings 102-113. Lonzo Ball finished the game with 11 points, 11 assists, and 7 boards. The Lakers are now 8-11 on the season.
