All of the PR talk that Kevin Durant has been doing to convince reporters that the animosity between him and Russell Westbrook is in the past, went out the window once the teammates-turned-rivals took to the court in Oklahoma City on Wednesday night, November 22.

With his Golden State Warriors trailing by nearly 20 points midway through the third quarter, KD had the ball knocked away from him as he attempted a crossover on the reigning MVP. Westbrook immediately began shaking his head 'no,' so as to taunt Durant for his failed attempt to drive past him. In turn, Durant began jawing off at the mouth, and within moments they had closed enough distance between them that they stood forehead to forehead as the crowd raised up in suspense. The officials called double technicals in the heat of the face-off, but that didn't quell tensions going forth.

Westbrook would continue to carry the Warriors towards a 108-91 victory, with a contribution of 34 points with 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Comparatively, Durant underperformed before his old hometown crowd, putting up a 21/5/2 stat line. Afer the game the triple-doubles king shed some light on what was behind the emotions fans witnessed on display, saying, "You know, I'ma go out and compete every night. I'm coming at your neck every single night. And, uh, you know, I just let him know that."
