Evelyn Braxton, the mother of Tamar Braxton, recently opened up about the domestic abuse she witnessed her estranged son-in-law Vincent Herbert dish out on her daughter. Evelyn stated during her interview with Sister Circle TV that she woke up one night to a loud sound which she attributed to the elevator crashing in the house but much to her dismay she walked into Vince beating Tamar. She claims to have stood up to Vincent attempting to deter him from abusing Tamar but his rage was quickly turned onto her. Evelyn said that she barricaded herself in the bedroom away from Vince and kept her grandchild in the room with her for the remainder of the night.

She also spoke about the notion of battered women being in denial. Evelyn said that she thought to call the police but that even if she did Tamar would have denied any wrongdoing on Vince's part.
