Jackie Robinson broke down the color barrier in baseball roughly 70 years ago and now the rookie jersey he played in to break through those walls has been auctioned for over $2 million. The jersey was auctioned off by Heritage Auctions for their "Heroes of Sport" offering which included a letter from Robinson's widow confirming the jersey's authenticity as the one brought over from the Hall of Fame in 1947.

The price of the jersey set the record for jerseys sold from the post-World War II era beating out the previous record-setting jersey sale of Sandy Koufax's rookie uniform which sold for $573,600.
