Cassidy found himself on the wrong side of the law Sunday after Jersey City cops responded to a report of a parked van that reeked of marijuana.

The Philly rapper, real name Barry Reese, was arrested around 4:10 pm in front of his own home and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the police report.

When officers approached the van, they found Cassidy reclined in the driver's seat and a female sitting next to him in the passenger seat, the report says.

Officers said that when the rapper saw them he sat up and began reaching under his seat. Fearing he may be reaching for a weapon, officers reportedly ordered him to stop, but he refused.

Cassidy next unlocked the door, and as officers went to remove him from the van they smelled marijuana and saw a joint sitting in plain view on the center console.

In addition to the joint on the console, police reportedly also discovered a grinder and a bag of marijuana under the seat where Cassidy had been reaching.

The woman, identified as Shanay Reese, was also charged with possession of marijuana.

Police later learned that Cassidy had an outstanding warrant in another county, for the same offense.
