Snoop Dogg is very clear about where he stands on Marshawn Lynch's decision to stand for Mexico's national anthem after sitting for the U.S. national anthem, prior to the Raiders game against the Patriots in Mexico City over the weekend. The Long Beach rapper took to social media to post a recording of him blasting Donald Trump as he watched ESPN's coverage of the President's tweet suggesting that Lynch be suspended for his actions.
"They should suspend your dumb a**, motherf**ker, all the goofy s**t you do everyday. When you gonna get suspended motherf**ker? F**k you. I'm with Marshawn Lynch," said Snoop.
For the past two months, President Trump has been hounding the NFL's front office over its tolerance for the protests that have occupied pre-game National Anthem ceremonies for a year and a half. The league initially responded with an attempt to get players and owners to sit down across from one another and begin a dialogue on how to best move forward in support of one another. However, those talks immediately fell apart, mostly on account of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' unwillingness to compromise and Texans owner Bob McNair's controversial comments. All the while, Trump has continued to poke at commissioner Roger Goodell, but the commissioner has refused to respond.
Trump did wind up getting reactions out of some of the more important personal figures surrounding Lynch. The star running back's mother hopped on Twitter to remind followers that the President doesn't have the power he wished he'd have when he attempted to buy a team, but was blocked from his ownership bid. And the wife of Raiders' coach Jack Del Rio also came out with words for the President, stating that she wished she would have never voted for him.
Snoop's response to the President was a lot more raw, as one would naturally expect. "Stand up for the Mexican President, the Mexican motherf**king National Anthem. We f**k with the Mexicans, n***a. They the homies," he said. "F**k you Donald Trump, and everything you stand for. LaVar Ball, good looking out. I wouldn't have thanked that motherf**ker either."
